EDUCATION
This year is going to be an exciting year for education across NSW.
Education Evenings
We are hosting 3 educational evenings across the year. The first one will be held at Liverpool Hospital on the 9th March.

We have called this “Blood, booze and babies: A focus on trauma”. There will be a second evening at Sydney Children’s Hospital on March 25th around the new state Burns guidelines.

We’re off to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in May – for all those who will like to travel into the city for the evening. The education will focus on essentials in Emergency Nursing. We are looking to cover ventilation, CXR interpretation, ABG analysis and ECG interpretation. Of course we will get dynamic and inspirational presenters for all these topics. We are also not forgetting our colleagues in rural NSW. CENA will also commit to an educational evening somewhere… so please watch this site for updates
Remember that as an APEC provider we offer RCNA CNE points for these education evenings – so it will add to your portfolio!
Trauma Nursing Programme NSW
The Trauma Nursing Program (TNP) has been launched in NSW, with the first course being run in September 2007. The course was held with good reviews at Prince of Wales Hospital. We still have a bit of work to do to give the course a ‘NSW flavour’, but it was great to get the first course out there.
You can download a registration form from the TNP website http://www.tnp.net.au, or apply directly on line at the same website.
If you require further information about the TNP, have a look at the website; send an e-mail to TNP via the link on the website or e-mail me with queries specific to NSW TNP courses
CENA conference
As you are all aware the CENA conference will be held in Canberra this year. Just a reminder of the date and to keep reading this website for more information
Yours in ongoing education
