Advanced Emergency Nursing Practice: Wound Management Workshops

In recognition of the needs of emergency nurses aspiring in advanced practice roles such as Nurse Practitioner, CENA (NSW) have developing a series of Advanced Emergency Nursing Practice education modules.

The first module to be developed in this series is Wound Management. Topics covered in this module include:

  • Assessment of wounds
  • Wound management options: Topical & dressing products
  • Wound closure techniques including tissue adhesives and simple suturing
  • Radiological applications in wound management
  • Local anaesthetic field infiltration
  • Pharmacology: antibiotic use and tetanus immunisation guidelines
  • Discharge advice
  • Clinical documentation.

Johnson & Johnson Medical has proudly sponsored this educational module.
Participants will be provided with a course materials and attendance certification is also provided.

Participants have the opportunity of practicing suturing techniques in a simulated realistic environment.

Lunch is provided to participants please advise at the time of application if you have any special dietary requirements.

Application forms are available on the CENA web site NSW section under Education. Please note numbers are limited and payment is required at the time of application.
