Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS)
This app from the Advanced Paediatric Life Support group is a comprehensive collection of BLS and ALS algorithms including neonatal resuscitation, the choking child, anaphylaxis, brady and tachyarrhythmia management, decreased LOC, status epilepticus, C spine and hyperkalaemia management. The app allows you to select one of the algorithms in its completeness and swipe efficiently between each of the 14 separate flow charts without having to go back and forth from the landing page.

The NSW Trauma App will ensure clinicians are supported in the care of the trauma patient and are able to manage to meet the needs of the specific traumatically injured patient. Clinicians in metropolitan, rural and remote areas require standardised, easy access to clinical support tools and up-to-date, evidence-based information to deliver optimal care. This includes the provision of trauma resources for pre-hospital and intra-hospital clinicians. All clinicians require portable and versatile amenity in trauma care that can be utilised on a smart phone or tablet operable in environments such as poor cellular or WiFi access locations.
Originally designed by orthopaedic surgeons for orthopaedic surgeons but transitions as an ideal musculoskeletal trauma app for those in ED. The app is divided into fractures and dislocations with the same format of discussion for each bone/joint pathology – a page of facts (anatomy, epidemiology and common injury mechanisms, and examination features), an accompanying image (normal bone alignment and injury-specific views), injury classification and treatment. Very accessible and cheaper than a text book.
